The fine Victorian exterior, complete with beautiful pictorial tiling in the entrance, identify this as a former Ramsden's hotel of 1898. Inside, it's been stylishly opened out to create a classy but modern drinking environment that's popular with young professionals. The one large room, served from a U-shaped bar, also has more intimate alcoves, as well as comfy chairs in the windows overlooking Bull Green. The decor is mixed, but with touches of the traditional. There are television screens throughout the pub, linked to a video jukebox. It can get very busy here in the evenings and especially at weekends.
