On the main road in the middle of Newport, this is a friendly drinkers' local, serving three changing ales, all from the from Marston's group. It is a transformed ex-Greene King house focused on the community, having been purchased by a local business. Extensive repair work has been done to the building, and the change of ownership, with a new enthusiastic licensee, has raised its popularity as a beer drinkers' destination. Food is served on Tuesday evening only.
