A warm and welcoming traditional village pub, in the centre of the historic village of Alton, owned by the local community. There is a games room for darts, pool and skittles, a friendly bar, quieter lounge areas and a beer garden. Well behaved dogs are welcome in the games room and bar.

You can stay here in the comfortable Bed and Breakfast accommodation only a mile away from Alton Towers. Situated above the beautiful Churnet Valley, all visitors, walkers, hiking groups, cyclists, tourists and locals are welcome. The adjacent coffee shop is open Thursday, Friday and Saturday 10am- 2 pm. Happy hour every Tues 6pm-7pm, Fri 5pm-6pm, Sun 7pm-8pm, with good discounts. The very popular evening menu is Thai only. Booking is strongly advised. 2 permanent real ales plus a third rotating ale from Rural Brewing Co. who are also from Alton and hoping to move into premises sited at the rear of the White Hart in the near future.
