Attractive village pub in the heart of the local community. A central bar serves an L shaped room with a separate restaurant area provided for diners. Three Marston’s beers are always available. Bar games and WiFi available. Popular quiz Monday nights. Pie night Thursday, fresh wood fired stone baked pizzas Friday night eat in or take away, carvery Sunday lunch booking advisable. Car parking is available at the village hall and the pub is well served by a local bus route. Children and dogs welcome. Winner of Uttoxeter CAMRA Sub Branch Pub of the Season award Spring 2015, Winter 2017, Pub of the year 2016.

Historic Interest

Small building from 1669 with relatively little external alteration and some 17th century internal features. For some time it was known as the Railway Tavern as the Churnet Valley line to Uttoxeter passed nearby. It has subsequently reverted to its original name.
