19th century two-bar rural community pub built by a farrier at the south end of England's longest village green. The food is home-cooked, especially the unique '3-Shu pie', which is freshly baked to order. Both bars have coal fires; dogs are welcome in the public bar, and children are welcome. Evening jamming sessions are popular as are pasty baking competitions, conker contests and veggie Olympics. A double boules court hosts annual championships.
