Large pub adjacent to the main A650 road and built within an old tramshed (which was also the pub's former name and which it is still locally known as), originally constructed in 1904, and popular for drinking and dining. Formerly the Hop and the Old Tramshed, this establishment was refurbished and rebranded at the end of January 2019 although little changed from its previous incarnations. The premises comprise a large open-plan main room with an upper mezzanine area, primarily used for dining. A room offset to one side of the ground floor forms a restaurant area. As part of Ossett Brewery, the four regular real ales are from its range. There are also four additional real ales from the other breweries under the Ossett family, especially Rat, as well as regional guest beers. Eight keg taps dispense craft beers from the in-house SALT brewery and two keg taps offer Ossett lagers. A further ten keg taps offer other lagers, ciders and Guinness. Wood-fired pizzas are available, for eating in or takeaway, and can be seen to be prepared from the main bar area. The large outdoor seating area is popular in good weather. A challenging quiz is held on Tuesday nights. At the rear of the building at both levels are accesses into the adjacent SALT Beer Factory Taproom and Brewery (see separate WhatPub entry).
