Reopened in June 2022. Half-timbered building. Late C17, with C 20 alterations. Roughcast, stucco and planted timbers on brick walls, also one timber-framed wing. Once a coaching inn. The Tithe Map from circa 1840 shows it as the Flash Inn. [Public House, Smithy, shop yard and garden]. At that time the landowner was William Bishton Garnett and the occupier was one William Pinnington. The 1920 OS map has it as the Nag's Head. Has had a bowling green since 1911, and was once part of the Chester Northgate Brewery Company Ltd. estate. Recently

(2023) acieved entry into the Good Food Guide.

Historic Interest

Grade II listed (1980). Original pub dates from late 17C, possibly 1680.
