In 1630 there were seven inns in Bunbury. This relatively high figure may have been a factor in the Court of Great Session’s requirement of 1638 for ‘the suppression of superfluous alehouses in Bunbury’. In 1797 an innkeeper named Thomas Walker was recorded, as was the Nag’s Head public house. Original beams, open fires and wattle & daub give character to this detached 18th century house. Interior largely untouched over the years, with sensitive internal refurbishment. A prominent three storey Georgian free house in the village of Bunbury, once frequented by actors filming the ITV series "Home Fires". This pub has two rooms plus a pool/ tv sports room adjoining the lounge. Some lovely old features to be found here including oak beams, wattle and daub walls. Up to six cask ales on offer, three of the beer being regulars. Large car park and garden area to rear. The Olympic medalist Beth Tweddle lives nearby.
