Website

Named to commemorate the famous local railway engineer, this has been much altered over the past century. A side patio offers outside drinking and smoking, in the lee of the East Coast rail line. Live music most Saturday evenings and some Sunday afternoons. Reopened 01.07.22 after refurbishment with increased outdoor seating at the rear. Further reopened 20.07.23 under new management. Real ale not initially available but expected to be reintroduced in early August 2023. Still awaited.
