Classic urban street corner local, somewhat hidden-away in a quiet residential area away from the city-centre, but a short walk west from the railway station.

In the early 2010s the pub had its own micro brewery, but that operation moved to the Queen Inn in the south of the city which now supplies beer on a weekly basis to the Fulflood.

The pub’s interior is a capacious single bar, smart and comfy with a wood-burning stove and a library with daily newspapers. The walls have posters showing historic reminders of Winchester - note the old city map on the ceiling! Patios, both front and rear, are available for alfresco drinkers.

No food is served, but takeaways may be ordered. An impressive range of ‘guest’ beers from mainly local breweries are featured.

Glazed tile exterior still indicates former Winchester brewery ownership.
