Friendly public bar with stone floor, stone mullioned windows and wood burning stove in one corner. Comfortable lounge which is also available for hire for 'functions'.

Hillside location with impressive views over Stroud, from the pubs South facing windows and the garden. Easterly views to Rodborough Fort, Southerly views to Selsley & Westerly views towards the River Severn.

Garden is large and sloped but has terraced circular paved slabs with circular bench/table combos seating 8. Recent upgrade to the outside bar and area alongside due to Covid rules.

Cotswold Way walkers (& dogs) welcome.

Directions
Leaving Stroud on the A419 in a Westerly direction take the second exit at Cainscross roundabout. Use right exit lane and follow road round to the right onto Cashes Green Rd. Follow the road up over the railway bridge and take the second (straight) exit at the mini roundabout. Continue and take the second exit at the mini roundabout (straight) outside Prince of Wales pub. Continue up the hill and take the left turn onto Westrip Lane. Take the 4th right onto Redhouse lane. The road goes up steeply, keeping right to avoid Sandpits lane the Carpenters Arms may be found on the right after 500m. Do not approach the pub from the other end of Redhouse lane unless coming down the hill - the turn is extremely tight and you could ground the car.
