This pub was the Slug and Lettuce until October 2015 when it was refurbished and renamed as the Block and Gasket. At a similar time the Waterside bar changed its name to the Slug and Lettuce.

Large open plan bar on a corner unit between Sale's main shopping district and Sale Metrolink station & the Bridgewater Canal. The bar is located opposite Sale Town Hall & is close to the Waterside Arts Centre.

The interior is stripped bare wood and wooden seating and those bare incandescent lamps. There are four hand pumps.
