This cosy thatched inn is some 400 years old and built of stone, flint and cob. Outside the south facing garden and patio area, with its glorious views across to Dartmoor, has summer seating for eating. Dogs are welcome, as are well-behaved children until 9.00pm. Following the change of ownership in late 2019, this always friendly pub now has a greater emphasis on real ale, with three regularly available. Meanwhile the reputation for good home-cooked food has been very well maintained. Live music sessions are held every fourth Tuesday of the month, while a well-supported quiz night takes place each fourth Sunday.
