Opened in 2009. Large roomed friendly micropub and bottle shop with seating at the front window to watch the world go by. Also small room at the rear. Wide range of bottled and canned beers from UK, Europe,and USA, many bottled-conditioned, to drink in or take out. Five Cask ales are on hand-pump, often Ossett and Oakham, normally with one dark or malty beer, frequently from local small breweries, and four keg lines have also been added. Frequently, one beer from a local brewery, Merlin or Four Priests. Although there is no food, drinkers can bring in their own, with a chip shop opposite. Unique quiet and relaxed atmosphere. Now signed up to the Oakademy scheme from Oakham. Was in continuous use as a butchers shop from Victorian times until 2009.
