Taken over by Proper Pubs in 2021 and fully refurbished in 2022. Now a wet-led pub which does not serve food. Monday is an LBGT night, Wednesday open mic night, Friday a disco & karaoke night, live music on Saturday and Sunday a fun day with DJ and games like bingo.

Historic Interest

Originally built as a timber frame house in the 1650s, alterations in 1758 allowed an alehose called the May Pole to open in part of the building. In the 1780s it became a coaching inn called the White Bear and over time this was shortened to the Bear
