This friendly Hotel on the main street dates from 1756 . Very popular with locals, tourists and ramblers. Live folk music first Tuesday and last Thursday of the month, with a cover charge, is often sold out. Hourly bus service. The Hotel has pool and darts teams who compete in local league. All bedrooms en suite. Four guest beers from SIBA scheme and Punch finest cask.

Reopened April 2019 after major redevelopment and refurbishment. Large bar area to the left of the entrance with several rooms to the right serving as the restaurant area; two handpumps offer real ales.

Breakfast available to non-residents from 8am which is 30mins earlier than anyone else on a weekday and an hour and a half earlier than others at weekends.
