A multi award-winning local that has featured in many previous Guides. The Star showcases numerous local and countrywide breweries, with dedicated pumps for Mallinsons, Pictish and usually a dark beer. The pub has no jukebox or games; a real fire in the winter and friendly conversation make it a must when visiting the town. The landlady and her staff run local events and also occasional beer festivals at the pub. Unfortunately was flooded in Feb 2022 and then closed for 13 weeks but is now fully open with full refurbishment done.
