Three roomed pub in the centre of the village. An extensive menu is available during the day.

Patio garden at rear with large function room, named the Galleon. Monday is quiz night. The pub is also horse-friendly, although not inside!

Extensively refurbised in November 2016.

Historic Interest

The Admiral Rodney was registered as an Asset of Community Value by Gedling Borough Council on the 16th March 2016 and was nominated by the Nottingham Branch of CAMRA. The Admiral Rodney is in Gedling Borough Council's Calverton Conservation Area.

In the 1823 Alehouse Recognizances for the South Thurgarton Hundred, the Rodney was under victualler Christopher Beckett (County Archive C/QD/LV/4/7/5). In 1832, the Admiral Rodney was a fully licensed establishment under Wm. Ward (White). In 1855 the landlord was W. Baguley and in 1876 it was a Samuel Turton (Post Office Directories). The Admiral Rodney forms a local name cluster with the Admiral Rodney in Wollaton. Admiral Rodney (1718 - 1792) was one of Britain's great naval heroes during the second-half of the 18th century.

As at November 2017, the Admiral Rodney freehold (NT249806) was held by EVERARDS BREWERY LIMITED (Reg. No. 319261).
