BrewDog Seven Dials, London

Has reopened as Brewdog Seven Dials, inside, they have two bars spread over different floors and twenty "cutting-edge craft beers on tap" from ourselves and other breweries, from home and abroad. The tap list is regularly updated on their website.

In its heyday in the '70s and '80s the old Marquis was said to be the hangout for the Sex Pistols and the Clash. In a substantial renovation and expansion, the Polpo Group have created 4 contrasting drinking and eating areas - from the Dive Bar below, the Public Bar at the rear, the more formal dining in the old pub area (few vestiges of the pub interior remain - first licensed 1791 and rebuilt 1886 by the architects Wylson and Long at a cost of £3850 - who also designed the Cambridge opposite), to the somewhat in your eye but more laid out 1st floor, there's something for pretty well everyone. You can keep an eye out for visitors slipping into Smiley's Circus, or on seekers of good second hand editions a spits balls' throw across the road at Helene Hanff's 84 Charing Cross Road ...... but whilst the stunning copper bar top and brown-painted ventilation runs of the Public Bar impress.
