Friendly country pub with few frills and an old fashioned atmosphere; the licensee has been in situ for over half a century. The small cosy bar, with low ceiling and real fire, has now been defined by Camra's Pub Heritage Committee as being of "outstanding national historic interest" due to "some fixed seating of pre-war origin, 1950s counter, and old service hatch to former corridor". Landlady also runs neighbouring caravan site and stables. Occasional guest beer in summer. Cash only.
