In design this a modern bar/restaurant set out over two good sized floors. Spacious ground floor with outside seating, albeit uncovered. A curving staircase leads you to the first floor which is mostly set aside for diners. Apart from the stairs, the two floors are linked by a feature "hole" or reveal in the upper floor.
Historic Interest
Reopened 1/4/2023 as Wishing Well. Botanist closed 27/2/2023 as the owners sold off smaller sites across the UK. On 2/1/2017 what was the Milson Rhodes (run by JD Wetherspoon) became the Botanist (part of New World PubCo). The Milson Rhodes was Wetherspoon's first venture into Didsbury (opening 19/3/2010) and was a welcome addition to the Didsbury village pub scene. Named after Dr John Milson Rhodes (1847-1909) who lived in Didsbury treating patients with learning difficulties and epilepsy. So highly regarded was Dr Rhodes that upon his death Didsbury’s four-square clock tower on Wilmslow Road was built to commemorate his life. Prior to the Wetherspoon era, the pub started life as one of the Pitcher & Piano chain pubs.
