Wood-panelled bar and dining establishment overlooking the historic market cross in the town centre. To the rear is the partially ruined 12thC abbey where the monk Elmer attempted flight from the roof with wings he had made. Wholesome locally sourced food is served in the separate dining room while the bar is for drinking, conversation and observing everyday life in this busy hilltop town. A pub central to the community, it offers a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere for locals and visitors alike.
