This is a restaurant, where drinking alcohol, including draught and bottled beer, is only allowed when food is being consumed.

A smart food orientated pub located close to a nature reserve and Woodbridge golf course. It was extensively refitted after a fire which hit the building soon after current owner took ownership.

There's a toilet which is accessible to disabled customers.

Cycle racks have been installed to make the pub extra suitable for cyclists exploring the area. Dog-friendly, with doggie treats always available.

The owners are supporters of the local Riding for Disabled Centre at Hollesley.

Historic Interest

Called Cherry Tree until mid-2010. In June/July 1981 edition of Last Orders*** it was reported that this Tolly Cobbold pub had new tenants, Chris & Mandy (previously at Ipswich Hand in Hand) after extensive alterations had been completed. Although a regular entry in the Top 50 Gastropub awards, owners Madalene Bovini-Hamel & Ross Pyke dislike the term gastropub & prefer to call it "a pub with a restaurant". Renamed the British Larder mid-2010 to reflect it having been taken over by the owners of the website of that name & to avoid confusion with the Cherry Tree in Woodbridge.
