The only pub in Everton, it dates from 1852, and has a friendly atmosphere and appeals to a clientele of all ages. The entrance opens on to the public bar and there is a Sports' bar for pool etc. to the right of the entrance. Through the bar is a spacious dining room which is currently used for showing sport on TV or as an overspill from the public bar. The Greensand Ridge Walk runs next to the pub which, providing reasonable notice is given, can be opened outside of normal hours for groups of walkers requiring liquid refreshment or sandwiches .
