This popular Leith watering hole consists of the former waiting room for the Leith to Aberdeen ferry, along with outside seating on a pontoon on the Water of Leith, dockside seating much of which is protected by an awning and heaters and a separate lounge (the Bothy) converted from the former restaurant accessed from the dockside area. A tip: the ladies here is larger and more accessible than in the main bar!

The main bar has a wood panelled ceiling edged with tiles of random Scottish place names from Teuchterland. There are also two smaller rooms and a large conservatory.

The menu (available all day) features meals served in small or large mugs as well as many other items. There is an excellent selection of malt whiskies. The full range of food and drink is available at the main bar.

There is also a kiosk bar for the plein air drinker which also provides table service to the Bothy. Ordering can be done by a QR code on tables.

It’s very busy during 6 Nations rugby and occasional hot summer days.

NOTE: Alcoholic drinks are served from 11am. Cask ale is only available via the main bar.
