Village inn with a strong community feel and a very warm welcome for walkers (including groups) and other visitors. Excellent-value, home-cooked food is available lunchtimes and evenings Guest beers are from the local SIBA list, with up to four beers on handpull offered. Major sporting events are shown on a large-screen TV, but there is normally a quiet corner to be found. The bar displays memorabilia relating to the Cragg Vale Coiners, a gang of 18th-century forgers.
