A city-centre pub popular with students, which underwent a major transformation for the better when taken over by Dan and Katie Searle, who also run the Reindeer, in 2008.

Five handpumps feature at least three of the Adnams range, plus their guests from Purity and others. The unusual layout includes a conservatory with soft seating, a small patio garden at the rear, and a long seating area facing the road.

There's also a large collection of rums, and whisky tastings in the downstairs bar. Occasional DJ events are held in both street-level and downstairs bars.
