A striking ornate Royal Standard crest forming part of the fabric of the building was repainted during a makeover in 2016 (see photos).

A one bar pub retaining much of the layout of its original two bar format. Carpeted, with a variety of tables and chairs. Note the historical local pictures with trams.

Multiple TV screens are popular with horse racing fans.

At least one cask beer is usually available on handpump.
