A welcoming & friendly pub in a small hamlet lost in the countryside on the Staffordshire/ Shropshire border. In April 2023 it reopened as a free house and serves an interesting and ever changing range of beers. It has a snug bar, a lounge and a large restaurant. On Sundays a full carvery is served, with a lighter menu for those who do not want a roast. There is a large grass area which can be used for childrens play. Parts of the building dates from the 17th century. The pub holds events such as beer festivals, family fun days, food festivals and charity events. Muddy boots & dogs welcome. Current hours are temporary, until refurbishment is complete

Historic Interest

Part of the building dates from the 17th century. Peter William Parton recorded as brewing at the pub in 1895 &1907 as well as being a maltster and tailor. He was also recorded as brewing at the pub in the Royal Commission Report on Arsenic in Beer in 1901. Susannah Parton recorded as brewing there in 1920.
