Large suburban pub opposite the Town's main cemetery, the current 1930's building having replaced an older pub on the site. It had a major refurbishment in early 2016, which has resulted in comfortable and tasteful surroundings. Although it's nominally one large room, it is divided into various areas. The bar to the right is provided with a darts board, pool table, TV and gas fire. while the lounge is nicely done out and has a pleasant view over the gardens. Lots of local photographs on display.

Historic Interest

Prior to the great expansion of Shrewsbury in the 20th century, Red Barn used to be an ancient wayside hamlet comprising about 12 houses and two pubs (the other one was the New Inn which closed in 1915 and is now a private house). The Red Barn was once a part of the large local estate of the Shrewsbury & Wem Brewery.

The grounds are quite spacious with a pleasant raised patio just outside the dining area, and a large beer garden below it at a lower level. There will also be a barbeque out here for use in summer
