A popular and welcoming village local with six cask ales. Abbeydale, Castle Rock. Moorhouse's and Ossett feature prominently on the beer roster. Sports fans are well catered for with both Sky and TNT sports channels. There is a cosy snug with a real fire in winter, and a beer garden where basket meals are served in summer. Takeaway service at other times from Buffet Carte. The pub has gone from strength to strength under the current licensee and her partner. Please note that actual opening times can vary from those advertised.

The pub doesn't do food, The Buffet Carté takeaway next door does do food, and customers purchasing food are permitted to use the beer garden and outside area to consume their takeaway if they wish. No food currently allowed in the pub. The Buffet Cartés opening times are Thu-Sat 5.30pm-9pm, Sun 2.30pm-6pm.
