This recently restored ex-Shipstones pub is an absolute delight. It has a multi roomed interior which has no extraneous noise. It has an outside smoking area with its own fire. Inside it has two open fires and a log burner. Regular entrant in the GBG since it re-opened and winner of Erewash Valley Camra Pub of the Year in 2010, it offers six hand pulls and at least four real ciders. Winning East Midlands Cider Pub of the Year in 2010. Aside from the three regular beers, an offering from Oakham Ales is normally on. The landlord is a supporter of local breweries and sources other beers from such establishments as Blue Monkey/Funfair. However he is always open to suggestions and offers a friendly welcome.
