Reopened in late September 2018, following a period of closure and £470,000 refurbishment, under new tenants. Built on the site of a former farmhouse and communal bakery in 1972, this award-winning pub is a popular venue for lunchtime and evening meals, offering a variety of home-cooked dishes (booking advisable). Sunday roast is served from noon to 7.30pm. There is a large children's play area outside, and well-behaved dogs are welcome in the bar area. A popular general knowledge quiz is held on Wednesday evenings. Pictures of old Thorpe Salvin adorn the walls. It is situated on the Five Churches and Round Rotherham walks, within the picturesque village of Thorpe Salvin and close to the Chesterfield Canal Cuckoo walk and the ruins of medieval Thorpe Salvin Hall are close by. Around 2 kilometres from Kiveton Park Rail Station.
