Very old traditional village pub on the main street and is one of Britain's most haunted pubs. Only a few minutes walk from Wingfield Manor. There is limited space for car parking.

Historic Interest

Nearby are the remains of the magnificent 15th century Wingfield Manor, partially destroyed around 1644 during the English Civil War. Mary Queen of Scots was previously held prisoner here in the 16th century by Bess of Hardwick's husband, the Earl of Shrewsbury.
