Black and white former coaching inn.

Formerly a bank, temporary town hall and coaching inn, this pub has been opened out into four distinct areas together with a beer garden and meeting room.

A lively entertainment programme is always on offer including Open Mike Acoustic on Thursday, Indie Bands on a Friday, rock bands on Saturday evenings, and a Wednesday quiz night (free buffet).

A plaque on the wall describes how George Massey manufactured gas for the first time in Altrincham in 1844 to illuminate the pub.

In recent times real ale availability has been limited to two or three.
