A two-roomed corner-house dating from the 1830s. A winner of many CAMRA awards, the main feature being the 20 handpumps and over 20 fonts central bar. The cask ales are sourced regionally with a variety of styles and usually at least one dark beer on offer. The other three handpumps are for cider or perry. There is a large board offering a plethora of Belgian beers. An outdoor area has been fenced off in Bexley Square for drinking.

Restoration

This was a basic, two-roomed street-corner local from the 1830s. Refurbishment has made better use of the space, converting the kitchen into a delightful snug. The interior blends contemporary and historical elements with an old-looking servery, polished flooring and fixed seating to retain a sense of a proper pub with Victorian roots. The new look features bottle-green banquette seating, repainted walls and an old copper bar counter that has been turned so that the it serves both the front and back rooms. A new bar-back runs along the side wall with a simple but classical design including the central clock from the 1800s that has a surrounding wreath picked out in gold. A doorway has a beautiful stained-glass window from the 1900s. The pub has won many CAMRA awards and has a huge selection of canned, bottled and keg beers alongside an impressive real ale range. There is no food beyond snacks.
