APR 2023 Now with a new lessee, manager and a vintage piano.

A traditionally styled bar that reopened in July 2021 under new management. There has been a major refurbishment to recapture its former heritage with a new bar counter and fittings giving a definite feel of the original Mathers. The decor provides an interesting history of the premises. Three handpumps offer real ales from from local independent breweries and there are locally sourced steak pies at weekends. Live sport is often shown on the TV.

Children are not admitted.
