Currently the only pub in this village to the north of Harrogate, a large tastefully decorated venue, very much food oriented, though popular with diners and drinkers alike. The front bar accommodates drinkers while the areas to left and right are mainly for dining, and there is a separate restaurant area at the back. Three handpumps serve three Yorkshire ales including a gluten-free beer from nearby Hambleton Brewery. Wednesday is Steak night, and a quiz is held every Friday. Overnight accommodation is available in three en-suite letting rooms above the pub.
