Large pub dating from 1868 located opposite Marine Park, very close to the sea front. This free house serves changing real ales from at least six handpulls and up to three boxed real ciders. Golden Plover is the house beer.. Draught Bass was permanently added in March 2023. One handpull will feature a gluten free beer .There are also up to five keg fonts available. There is a real ale loyalty card, buy 8 pints get one free. The Marine regularly updates Cask Real Ale Finder

To the left of the bar are two raised areas allowing customers to sit in social groups on comfortable seating. To the right of the bar is the games area with pool and darts. A good selection of non intrusive background music is played. Pub food served daily with traditional Sunday lunch. A friendly yet competitive general knowledge quiz is held each Sunday evening at 8pm.
