Self-styled country pub in the town, with the widest choice of beer and cider in the area. Up to eight real ales include rotating beers and microbrewery guests. The pub gets busy lunch and teatimes for good-value home-cooked food. Magazines, newspapers and members-only snooker facilities are available. Quizzes are on Thursdays, with live music most Saturdays. Handy for the shops, but do your shopping first, otherwise you just might not bother. Refurbished internally in 2019.
