Single-roomed, old-fashioned bar by the Water of Leith dating from 1747. It has a real fire and the walls are bedecked with mirrors, prints and beer-related artefacts. A large selection of pumpclips, many from long-lost breweries, hang from the ceiling along with hop bines which are renewed every harvest. The wide variety of real ales has an emphasis towards smaller breweries - beers are listed on the mirror behind the bar.

Built 1912 as a three-storey warehouse now a pub and separate private house. A single bar with two separate small mirrored gantries and a plain mirror between them which look as if they date back to inter-war times. Note the small drawers / cupboard in the lower part of the gantry – one is lockable. Most lower shelves replaced by fridges. The sloping bar counter has a shelf at the top like a dominoes table but why? It has a brown Formica top and the rear section looks altered. There is a good Art Deco glazed brick fireplace in yellow with ship symbols left and right.
