The thatch may have gone, but the core of this fine hotel remains the wonderfully preserved building of 1351. Tradition has it that Anne Boleyn stayed here in 1535, when Henry VIII visited Gloucester - the restaurant bears her name. Prior to licensing in the 1950s, it was known as Queen Anne's Farm. There is excellent modern accommodation attached while the original building has two bar areas with low beams, pews, settles, horses brasses and a dining room. Three craft brewery beers are always available and the food is of a very high standard. Monthly jazz (first Sunday).
