The Lakeside has a former place in the Guinness Book of World Records as Britain’s smallest pub. Run by one of Southport’s longest serving landlords, the pub is exceptionally friendly and is regularly frequented by stars appearing at the nearby Southport Theatre and Conference Centre. Rowers practicing on the marine lake behind the pub are also regulars. Several awards have been presented to the licensees including the local Pub of the Year award.The pub is now under new ownership after being run by two of the longest serving licensees in the town for many years.
