Half Moon Inn, Fellbeck

A roadside pub on the edge of Nidderdale serving a scattered local community and a caravan park behind the pub. There are two bars, a small public with a darts board and a larger lounge with an unusual fireplace separating the room into two sections; this end of the pub is in fact an extension. The area around the bar counter has a tiled floor and bench seating. Beyond the fireplace the carpeted room opens out a little and has a selection of chairs and tables with bench seating all round the plain white walls, this area has a dining room atmosphere, and there is a separate restaurant to the rear of this room. There are large bay windows looking out on to farmland and you may just discern the distant edge of the Brimham Rocks outcrop opposite the pub, the bays also provide a home for trophies and nick nacks, there are more trophies and plates on the plate rack running round the room. There is a great atmosphere as soon as you walk through the door, and if you are a stranger, do not worry, as the regulars are very welcoming, as are the bar staff.

This is a family run business, with assistance from some of the local people; the staff cannot do enough for patrons - the food is excellent, inexpensive and wide ranging; including a superb Sunday Carvery, they will also provide meals on china plates as takeaways - as long as they're returned the next day. The price of the regular real ale is very competitive within the vicinity,.
