Fullers and associated brand beers and guests from Fullers list are available in this 16th century village inn. Situated opposite Jane Austen's house it has been Chawton's pub since the time of the Spanish Armada. There is a large secluded garden with an extensive seating area plus "Chawton Village Library", a charity bookshop situated within the additional (working) outside lavatory. The pub may stay open later on Sunday Quiz Nights.

From reopening on Thursday 2 November 2023 the Greyfriar has become a directly managed Fuller's pub. Elinor the licensee is also the chef.
