A very old building dating back to around 1865 - a former beer house. The Great Western is just what you want from a traditional, community based, wet-led pub. It has two rooms, the L-shaped bar is adorned with pictures of trains and pump clips of previous guest ales. The comfy lounge has recently been refurbished. There is something going on every day of the week – the pub has dominoes, crib and football teams, bingo is played on Wednesday and live music and the pigeon fanciers keep the pub busy on Fridays. All in all, a very friendly pub catering for a mixed clientele.
