This Grade II listed pub has been totally refurbished prior to lockdown, including a new under cover seating area adjacent to the canal. One of six pubs in the country named after the teetotaller who defended Gibraltar from the Spanish in the late Eighteenth century. Dating from 1820, this attractive, this comfortable canal side pub has a warm and friendly atmosphere. Separate Vegan menu. Quiz's on Tuesday, open mic on Thursdays, and live music Friday and/or Saturday night.

Historic Interest

Grade II listing:- Building with early C18 back, late C18 or early C19 front of 2 storeys, 3 windows, with projecting left bay of 1 window. Stucco with fairly low pitched slated roof. Sash windows, those on ground floor tripartite with glazing bars. In left bay a projecting canted wood oriel on 1st floor, holding 3 sashes with glazing bars. Modern window below.
