Uniquely named, traditionally styled town-centre local, with four discrete drinking areas.Two large rooms are simply but tastefully decorated and furnished, and there are sofas in one alcove and traditional pub seating in another. One room has pool, darts and a TV. The adjoining Stables is used for pool competitions. A statue of the stricken gladiator overhangs the pub entrance.
