At the heart of this charming village, the Duke reopened in 2009 and is now successfully re-established. A local following also sees it as the centre for the annual Marr Folk Festival in July. At the foot of the northern Pennines, it is ideally located for outdoor activity enthusiasts, who can enjoy real ale and sample the home-made food which has a growing reputation. The layout separates the games/TV area from the dining area. Dogs aren't allowed inside the pub.
