Located in the pedestrianised town centre close to the Everyman Theatre, this large pub with the mixed atmosphere of cafe, wine-bar and pub is usually busy both day and night, catering for a wide range of customers. Large covered courtyard to the front is popular in summer. Regular live music. Generally two changing guest ales from non-Greene King brands including one Locale.

Underwent a major makeover in July 2018 but retains the same basic layout.
